What does a therapy session look like?
Therapy sessions last for 45-50 minutes. This is called a clinical hour. 45-50 minutes of session time, and 10-15 min for documentation/treatment planning. With children, therapy often includes games and activities to support the child with being in a comfortable environment, and supporting to express themselves with play.
How long will I be in therapy?
This will be individualized for each person depending on their needs and goals. Some people may see improvement within weeks, while others may benefit from a longer and more consistent relationship. I encourage all clients to always inquire about progress and treatment planning. Therapy is a collaborative relationship and experience and you should always feel comfortable and aware of what is happening in session.
